PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This is the framework for your 8-session Beginner Program. It’s adapted to your level and goals.
We focus on what you need specifically, while working through the core fundamentals below.
These are our goals for you:
• Get a general understanding of how things work in every area
• Create a framework of understanding so you can fit pieces of information
into the big picture
• Get experience moving and feeling the correct way
• Program your mind from the outset to think correctly in training
• Learn the most important cues for each technique
• Develop your fight IQ from day one
• Learn how to be safe, controlled, and minimize damage
Below is a breakdown of what to expect, not necessarily in this order:
SESSION THEMES
Stance, movement, punch technique rule of thumbs
Kicks: Round house, Push kicks
Elbows & Knees: Technique
Basic Clinch, how to use the elbows & knees
Shadow Boxing, how and why
Defenses: checks and parry’s
Using bags, how, angles and position, knees on bags
Countering, putting it together
This program is designed to get you started properly. You won’t be proficient in eight sessions- proficiency takes repetition. The difference is that starting with 1-on-1 sessions lays the right foundation and prevents months of wasted trial and error.
First, you learn the weapons in this program. Then, you learn how to use them in class.
You don’t need gear to start - we have everything. You don’t need to be fit either - this is primarily skill development. Fitness improves incrementally as you train and show up consistently.
